Music

That Boy is the most recent single from The Strawberry Explosion.  Listen.

The Strawberry Explosion released My Humps, a newly-conceived version of The Black Eyed Peas song.  You can also listen to the straight version of "My Humps."

Carrie is a featured vocalist on the song "John Waters," which can be found on Rusty Spell's new album, Plagiarism 2.

Carrie and Rusty recorded a new Strawberry Explosion song at the beginning of summer, 2005.  They released it, along with 5 remixes, as a single called Boobalean.  Carrie did the front cover art and helped write the lyrics.

Carrie Interviews Rusty and Rusty interviews Carrie about various music-related topics after the release of the new single, "Kissy, Kissy."

The Strawberry Explosion released their second single, Kissy, Kissy, with lyrics, music, cover art, kiss noises, and ad-libbing by Carrie.  Lots of stuff by Rusty, too, of course.  Listen to the MP3 of the single here, but buy the cd for all of the funny remixes. 

In March, 2004, The Mnemonic Devices released the Love Chewed Off Its Leg EP.  Carrie sings on three tracks.

The Strawberry Explosion, Carrie and Rusty's pop band, now exists and will be releasing singles regularly.  Their first single, "Then He Kissed Me", is available for purchase.  And listen to an MP3 version here.

Accomplishments & Publicity

Read the May 14, 1996 transcript of Florida State Representative Carrie Meek congratulating Carrie on receiving her Girl Scout Gold Award in front of the U.S. House of Representatives.

An article in the print edition of The Hattiesburg American included a photo of Carrie, along with a caption identifying her as the famous Rie Fortenberry.

Education

Dr. Carrie is now Lecturer and advisor at the University of Texas-Pan American - here's her faculty page.

Since the Fall of 2003, Carrie has been an Associate Editor of The Mississippi Review.

Once upon a time, Carrie was a writing center tutor.
